I'd like to take this opportunity to commend you for publishing Boulevard. For over a decade, I have browsed through the pages of your magazine. We especially enjoy "Hot Properties." It has been a valuable glimpse of the work of our peers and a valuable resource showcasing the work of local residential builders and craftspeople. Trained as architects, my wife and I appreciate the magazine's consistent focus on the quality of Victoria's built environment. Boulevard is a celebration of quality design, reflected in its graphic layout and colour production, and in its articles, which emphasize quality building design and artistry. Boulevard does its part to subtly raise the level of design awareness in Victoria and show how quality design can lift things just above the ordinary. Most of all, the best thing about Boulevard is that it's still free! Keep up the good work.

The Vince Klassen cover photo of David Ferguson and Janice O'Briain is exquisitely beautiful and confirms Vince's status as one of the most talented and erudite photographers in the region. While the debt to Gustav Klimt's Der Kuss painting is obvious in the pose, the costuming betrays more of an archaic Pre-Raphaelitic influence. These antique outfits would more likely have adorned the lithe bodies of the models in an Edward Burne-Jones tableau. As a member of Vienna's avant-garde secessionist movement, Klimt would have been more advanced in his couture taste. That minor caveat aside, the photo is haunting and perfectly suited to complement the essay "Romantic Love." Thanks also to Deborah and Miles Lowry for making the whole thing so magical.

The insightful article by Chris Creighton-Kelly (July/August 2002) brought to mind the encouraging admonition penned by King David, that sweet Psalmist of Israel, whose words ring out today as they have for centuries: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee" (Psalm 122 v.6). As Christians everywhere are mindful of our Jewish roots, may we pray that true Shalom will be the experience of the "apple of His eye" (Zechariah 2 v.8). Thank you for this timely article.

As an unknown student turned downtown business retailer, I was amazed at the amount of people who came into my studio gallery after only three months of being open because of my Boulevard advertisement. Within the first week, the ad paid for itself three times over. People constantly come up the stairs with the magazine in hand. Boulevard reaches my exact target audience. Thank you!

I would like to congratulate Boulevard magazine team members on the success of your sophisticated publication. Living in Victoria since 1998, my husband and I used some of your advertisers to assist us with renovations for our recently purchased Royal Oak Golf Course townhouse. Best wishes for future endeavours.

I am a 24-year-old Sidney native. I have spent the last six years in Europe and I'm "visiting" home. Having finished a graphic design degree in Europe, let me congratulate you on your wonderful publication. I feel as though I have been able to fully catch up on the Victoria scene, just from reading Boulevard. Kudos for your independence. Keep going as you are.

Congratulations! You have created, and consistently maintained, a truly classy magazine. I've just finished your latest publication, fascinated as always by the cleverly original ads (your advertisers must love them!) and the well-written, interesting feature articles. Your photographers and copywriters show a real genius for the unusual in commercial applications. There are always so many unique and truly original ideas. Keep it up. Yours is the only magazine I really enjoy cover to cover.

What can I say, other than I love this local magazine. Once I discovered it, I now look for it! I have the last several publications in my "private reading room." I think you have done a huge service to local businesses and do a wonderful job of showcasing the Island's local talents. In my opinion, Boulevard is better than the decorating magazines that I spend a fortune on every time I go shopping!

It took me two days to devour your magazine. What a wonderful quality "feast for my eyes." The advertisements and articles nourished my soul on these rainy days. I have responded to many ads. This is the first time I've seen this magazine, and it was delivered right to my door. Come again soon, eh! Many appreciative thanks,
